How Our Billing Works

Quotes vs. Subscription Plans

Setu billing starts with a scoped setup quote, then moves to a subscription after build completion.

  • Website scope is defined with the Setu team
  • A one-time setup quote is issued based on scoped work
  • Setup fee payment is required before production build starts
  • Subscription billing starts after the build period

Billing Cycle Options

After your site is built, subscription billing follows your agreed cycle.

  • Subscription starts after the build period (about 30 days)
  • Billing can be monthly or annual based on your agreement
  • Billing cycle updates are handled through support

Invoices & Receipts

View Your Invoices

You can review billing records for setup and subscription charges.

  • Go to Settings > Billing > Invoices
  • View all past invoices with dates and amounts
  • Download PDF invoices for accounting records
  • Invoices are also sent to your billing email
  • Each invoice shows the billing period and charge details

Invoice Details

Each invoice contains:

  • Invoice number and date
  • Billing period covered
  • Setup fee or subscription line item
  • Any approved billing adjustments
  • Payment method used
  • Payment status

Tax Information

Tax handling for your invoices:

  • Tax calculated based on billing address
  • Sales tax added for applicable states/regions
  • Share tax details with support if your account has special requirements
  • Tax appears separately on invoices
  • Contact support with tax questions

Payment Methods

Supported Payment Methods

Setu supports standard business payment methods for setup and subscription billing.

  • Available methods are shown in your billing settings
  • Payment method setup is completed during onboarding or with support
  • Contact support if your organization needs a billing method change

Update Payment Method

If your payment method needs to be updated, request help through support.

  • Go to Settings > Billing to review current billing details
  • Contact support to update billing method or billing contact
  • Setu confirms once updates are completed

Failed Payments

If a payment does not go through, Setu support helps resolve it.

  • You receive a billing notification
  • Support contacts you with next steps
  • Update payment details through support if required
  • Billing issues are handled manually until resolved

Changes & Troubleshooting

Plan Changes

Subscription changes are handled by Setu support.

  • Users cannot upgrade or downgrade plans directly in the dashboard
  • Contact support to request billing plan changes
  • Setu confirms scope, timing, and any billing adjustment before changes are applied

Adjustments & Refunds

Any billing adjustments are reviewed and handled through support.

  • No instant self-serve billing changes
  • Any credits or adjustments are communicated by support
  • Refund outcomes depend on account status and billing history

Setup Quote Status

If your setup quote is still pending, billing has not moved to subscription yet.

  • Review setup quote details with Setu support
  • Setup fee payment is required before production build starts
  • Subscription billing starts only after build completion
